Project Introduction: Future in our Hands designed the COMPAS program from 2007-2010 for the achievement of following objectives as mentioned in the proposal developed in 2007. These were in line with the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), specifically Goal 1 (eradicate extreme poverty), Goal 3 (gender equality), Goal 7 (environmental sustainability) and Goal 8 (develop partnership for development)
   
Project objective: Goal: Enhanced endogenous development of the communities through revival of indigenous knowledge systems and their worldviews.
   
  Purpose: Demonstrated IK help increased poverty alleviation through participatory natural resource management

250 farmers produced their total seed paddy requirement 254 farmers have produced paddy seeds to meet their total requirement
50% of the total land extent belonging to target farmers practice traditional methods 60% of the extent belong to target farmers are cultivated using traditional practices
250 farmers cultivated paddy without using chemicals 254 target farmers have practiced chemical free paddy cultivation
250 target farmers could reduce cost of cultivation by 25% 254 farmers could be able to reduce the cost of production by 20%
250 families increased their food intake with naturally grown food by 30% 254 farmers could increase the food intake with naturally grown food by 30%
54 families increased the use of ethno veterinary practices to 50% of all practices 62 (more than 100%) families increased use of ethno veterinary practices by 60%
250 farmers reduced external inputs in paddy farming by 50% 254 farmers have reduced their external input cost by 40%
70 farmers cultivated with 100% free of informal credit All the farmers are able to receive loan from their CBOs at a rate of 20% interest per annum
